Abstract

Activisions was a promotional newsletter by Activision, published seasonally from Fall 1981 to Fall 1983. The newsletter included previews of upcoming Activision games and interviews with Activision staff.

RePlay Magazine

Abstract

RePlay Magazine is a long-running trade magazine for the American game center industry. Published monthly since October 1975, RePlay broadly focuses on "other out-of-home entertainment venues," according to their website, which includes not only electronic games but other coin-operated amusements, such as jukeboxes and claw machines.

DuoWorld

Abstract

DuoWorld was a bi-monthly magazine focusing on the TurboDuo game console. The magazine was the successor to Larry Flynt Publication's TurboGrafx-16 magazine TurboPlay, itself a spinoff of Video Games & Computer Entertainment. DuoWorld ran for only three issues, completing its entire run in 1993.

Turbo Force

Abstract

Turbo Force was a short-lived TurboGrafx magazine by Sendai Publishing, the publishers of Electronic Gaming Monthly. It is believed this magazine was not distributed independently but was instead a pack-in with another Sendai Publishing magazine.

Only four issues of Turbo Force were produced.

NewType Gaming was a gaming magazine with a focus in competitive games and fighting games. Pocket Games

Pocket Games was a spinoff of Electronic Gaming Monthly focusing on handheld game consoles. The game primarily focused on Nintendo handheld consoles and games, but it expanded to include competing consoles, such as the Neo Geo Pocket and the PlayStation Portable. The magazine was published on an irregular seasonal schedule for around six years.
