Abstract
Byte was a long-running computing magazine published between 1975 and 1998. Byte was one of the major American computing publications and, among other topics, covered computer games.
Byte was originally published by Green Publishing before moving to its own company, Byte Publications, in early 1976. The magazine was purchased and published by McGraw-Hill in July 1979 and would be published by them until the final issue on July 1998, when it was shut down by new owners CMP Media.
