This item was donated to the Video Game History Foundation by Peter Grisafi (TheMetalBeast), who verified the authenticity of the item.

Appraisal

In addition to the flyer donated by Grisafi, the library also has a reproduction of this flyer, which we previously believed to be authentic. Grisafi determined that this copy was a forgery because it contains machine identification codes, a form of metadata embedded in documents by printers and copiers. This technology was not used in commercial printing at the time this flyer would have been published.

VGHF decided to keep this copy in the collection as an example of a forged reproduction. The item was marked as a suspected forgery before shelving and was intentionally not digitized for the library's digital collections.
