This collection represents GamePro's press asset archives from about 1995–2004. Discs in this collection are numbered 1 to 751, roughly following when they were received or created by GamePro but not in exact order.

The library is currently digitizing these CDs to make their contents digitally accessible. Each copy in the digital library includes a scan of the CD, as well as scans of the cover slips that GamePro created for each disc.

Conditions Governing Access

The contents of each CD in this collection are openly accessible. Because these materials were intended for public distribution, the disc images in this collection have also been made downloadable through the Video Game History Foundation's digital library. Researchers can use the disc images to access files in their original formats, or files that can't be displayed in-browser; however, the Video Game History Foundation cannot provide support for these raw files.

Three files on this disc are corrupted:

Several documents on this CD infected with the Virus:VM/Kompu.E Microsoft Word macro virus when they were burned to this CD:

  • BMWmanual.doc
  • Eggsmanual.txt
  • BWpressrelease.doc
  • Eggs of Steel.doc
  • Guilty Gear.doc
The virus was removed from these file prior to uploading but is still present in the original disc image.

Several files on this disc used Japanese characters in their filenames, but they were corrupted when encoded for the Macintosh file format. For clarity, the filenames as they appear in the browsable CD directory have been repaired to their original Shift-JIS naming.

Due to a minor technical issue, a manifest file could not be generated for this disc at the time of accession. A manifest file will be generated once the error is corrected in the Curator software used by VGHF.
