The library's physical collection of Electronic Gaming Monthly includes all main issues of the magazine, published from 1989–2009, as well as the vast majority of the magazine's special issues and supplements.

The final issue of the original run of EGM, Issue 237, was never published in print; instead, the collection includes the February 2009 issue of EGM Brasil, which was published the same month.

The library's digital collection currently includes most supplements included with EGM, with the exceptions of inserts for subscribers (such as Quartermann's Q-Letter), Master Profile pages, and the Sega Force and TurboPlay magazine series (which will be digitized and cataloged separately). Unless noted, all issues on the library shelves come with subscriber inserts.

The cover of this issue has a "Display Until" date of April 15 and a copyright date of 1996. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empires was released on the Nintendo 64 in December 1996, suggesting that this magazine was published around the 1996 holiday season to coincide with the game's release.
