Content Description

This accession includes 33 cassette tapes from the collection of Jordan Mechner containing games for Apple II computers, predominantly released in 1978. Among these tapes are a few rare commercially released Apple II games, as well as several unreleased works by Mechner; notable titles will be identified at the time of cataloging by Chris Kohler, editorial director at Digital Eclipse, who facilitated the donation.

These tapes were donated to Digital Eclipse by Jordan Mechner during the production of Digital Eclipse's Karateka collection (unannounced at time of accession). Chris Kohler, editorial director at Digital Eclipse, says that the Mechner family gave their verbal permission to release the contents of these tapes.
