Spyro assembled character concept, 1997
According to Craig Stitt, artist Charles Zembillas drew a variety of dragon concepts while searching for an ideal design for the Spyro character. The artists ultimately cut the head off one dragon and attached it to the torso of another dragon, creating this design which became the basis for Spyro.
Spyro character color treatment, 1997
Before Spyro had his final purple color palette, Stitt produced this green-and-teal color treatment for Spyro using a photocopy of the original design. See "Spyro the Dragon in-engine character color treatments and animation samples ("Rainbow Spyro") [VHS]" for later revisions of this process.

Spyro the Dragon, Japanese demo disc [Japanese Playstation CD-ROM], 1998
The demo disc in this sleeve was neither scanned nor digitized. The item was sealed when loaned to the Video Game History Foundation, and it was returned to the donor in its original condition.
