Abstract
Girl Gamer was an official licensed Nintendo magazine published in the United Kingdom that was targeted to girls. The game covered upcoming games for Nintendo platforms that the editorial staff believed were of interest to girls, as well as columns about game characters and accessories.
This short-lived mini-magazine was marketed as a spin-off of Nintendo: The Official Magazine, also published in the UK by Future. We believe this magazine was distributed with a different, unidentified Future publication, likely a magazine for girls.
Girl Gamer was affiliated with Nintendo for at least its first eight issues. At some undetermined point following Issue 8, Girl Gamer separated from Nintendo and continued as an independent magazine covering additional platforms.
