Abstract

Play (sometimes Play Magazine) is a gaming magazine started by Dave Halverson, who previously founded GameFan and Gamers' Republic. As with Halverson's other magazines, Play has a special focus on Japanese import games, anime, and niche genres that appeal to a dedicated gaming audience.

Not to be confused with Play, a British PlayStation magazine launched in 1995 and re-launched in 2021.

Note on Issue Numbering

Issue numbers for this collection are based on the numbering listed in the magazine's masthead. Starting in May 2003, Play also began printing sequential issue numbers on the magazine's spine.
