Scope and Contents
This collection includes promotional materials, press kits, flyers, magazine clippings, memorabilia, game demo discs and press builds, and other ephemera from the history of game developer FromSoftware, primarily from Japan, spanning thirty years of company history from the first King's Field game from 1994 through Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree from 2024. The vast majority of the material in this collection was digitized in advance by the donor and uploaded to the Internet Archive, with the exception of digitizing European DVDs and Blu-rays.

Abstract
"One of the earliest FromSoftware demo discs produced. Unlike other FromSoftware demos (e.g. Echo Night 2), this is not simply the opening area, but an official ‘prequel’ with new areas. Same items and soundtrack. Takes about an hour to finish, with no save states. SLPM 80029.
There appear to have been two sources for this disk (based on auction descriptions):
- Before KF III was released in Japan on June 21, 1996, this trial was distributed to a small number of stores for pre-sale play.
- About two months later, a handful were given out at the first ever Tokyo Game Show on Aug 22-24, 1996."
Arrangement
This item was distributed with the King's Field III jigsaw puzzle. The donor originally purchased these items separately.
