GamePro
GamePro was one of the longest-running American video game magazines, published continuously from May 1989 until the end of 2011. The magazine was originally published by SuperPlay, before being acquired by IDG Communications after the first issue.
GamePro continued to operate as an independent unit of IDG until the magazine was dissolved in Winter 2011, following a final issue which attempted to pivot the magazine from a monthly to quarterly format.
GamePro Greatest Strategies, Fall/Winter 2003
These special issues of GamePro were published outside the magazine's normal publishing schedule and numbering scheme. They include issues for specific games, consoles, and subject areas.
This sub-series currently includes 10 special and supplemental magazines that were published between 1990–1993. Other special issues of GamePro have not been cataloged yet.
GamePro, Issue 1, May 1989
The library has two copies of the first issue of GamePro. One of the copies is in exceptional condition; according to an IDG employee who provided the copy, this copy was allegedly a reprint, though we could not corroborate that the issue was ever actually reprinted.
GamePro, Issue 2, July/August 1989
This collection includes every issue of GamePro magazine from May 1989–Winter 2011, as well as a number of special issues and strategy guides published throughout the magazine's run.
