Game Genie Code Update

Abstract

Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc., the American manufacturer of the Game Genie series of cheat devices, published a newsletter (also called Game Genie Update) that contained new cheat codes for games for a variety of consoles. The newsletter, which was produced as a supplement to the codebooks distributed with Game Genie products, was sent directly to Game Genie owners who subscribed via advertisements included with their devices.

Abstract

Game Informer was one of the longest-running monthly American video game magazines. Game Informer was originally a promotional magazine owned by the game retailer FuncoLand, which was reorganized as GameStop in December 2000. For many years, the magazine was tied to GameStop's reward program; it was decoupled from the rewards program and relaunched as a standlone subscription in March 2024 before being discontinued shortly after in August 2024.
