Mega Visions

 Series
Identifier: MAG-MEGAVISIONS

Scope and Contents

This ongoing collection includes every print issue of Mega Visions.

According to Mega Visions editor-in-chief Chris Powell, the original digital-only issues of Mega Visions (Issues 0–5) were produced using a custom interactive digital format, which cannot be easily reproduced outside its original (and now-discontinued) format. These issues will likely not be collected by the library.

Starting with the second relaunch of Mega Visions in Fall 2021 (nickamed Mega Visions Magazine 3.0), the issue numbering for the magazine started over from Issue 01. According to Powell, the earlier issues are referred to internally as "legacy issues."

Abstract

Mega Visions (also called Mega Visions Magazine) is a retrogaming magazine edited and published by Chris Powell. Originally launched in 2016 as a digital-only retro Sega fan magazine, Mega Visions has been relaunched twice, first in 2018 as a physical and digital hybrid artbook magazine, then again as a "neo retro" magazine in 2021 that also covers modern retro-style games.

Originally intended to be published quarterly, since 2018, the magazine has usually been published once per year.

Note on Publishing Dates

Thanks to Mega Visions editor-in-chief Chris Powell for providing publication dates for the digital-only issues of the magazine.

Publication dates for Issues 7–9 are unknown and were approximated based on social media activity from Mega Visions.
