Abstract
Game Hits was a free tabloid-style magazine distributed at game stores in the United States in the mid-1990s. The magazine featured short descriptions of games with large screenshots and art assets, presumably to entice store customers, with an emphasis on providing game hits and cheat codes.
The magazine ran from 1993 until at least April 1996; it is unclear how many issues of Game Hits were published.
Game Hits was independently published by New Hampshire-based Connell Communications Inc., which also distributed the promotional tabloids Video Event and Take One to video stores.
Custodial History
The majority of the library's copies of Game Hits were donated by former editor-in-chief Tom Russo, who later served as the editor-in-chief of Next Generation magazine.
