Abstract
CD-ROM Professional was a magazine that covered the rise of the CD-ROMs as a digital information medium. Although the magazine covered entertainment titles, its main focus was CD-ROM hardware, professional applications of CD technology, and non-entertainment titles.
The magazine ran bimonthly through the end of 1994. As the quantity of news in the multimedia business increased, starting in 1993, CD-ROM Professional was supplemented with a special edition titled CD-ROM News Extra with late-breaking news and stories. The special edition supplement was discontinued in October 1994 in favor of moving y the magazine to a monthly schedule, starting in January 1995.
Starting in January 1997, CD-ROM Professional was rebranded EMedia Professional, shifting focus to other digital formats such as DVD and the internet. This version of the magazine appears to have run until at least 2000.
