Abstract
Vidiot was a video game spinoff of the rock music magazine Creem. The magazine began as a one-time special issue of Creem in 1982, then continued as a bimonthly magazine for most of 1983.
Presented as a lifestyle magazine, Vidiot covered arcade games and home consoles, with a slightly tongue-in-cheek emphasis on the nascent gaming culture in America in the early 1980s. As a spinoff of Creem, the magazine also covered the intersection of music and home video and often featured celebrity musicians talking about their favorite games.
