Scope and Contents
This collection has the first issues of three separate magazines, Personal Computer Combat Simulations and PC Special by Challenge Publications, and PC Ace by Vector Publishing Group. The total number of issues published for each magazine is unknown, although PC Combat Simulations ran until at least February 1995 (PC Special, Volume 1, Number 1, p.50).

Historical Note
Challenge Publications was run by Edwin A. Schnepf, a former Air Force pilot. Many of the contributors to PC Combat Simulations, PC Special, and PC Ace also had a military background, whicha aligns with the magazines' editorial direction.

Abstract
Personal Computer Combat Simulations was a computer game magazine by military enthusiast publisher Challenge Publications. The magazine primarily covered military simulation games. Special issues of PC Combat Simulations were released under an alternate title PC Special, featuring much of the same staff.
Following the apparent end of Personal Computer Computer Combat Simulations, former Challenge Publications editor Jim Bender independently launched another similar magazine, PC Ace.
Note on Title
Personal Computer Combat Simulations is also varyingly referred to as PC Combat Simulations, PC Combat Sims, and PC Simulations.
