Historical Note
This library's physical collection has two copies of this issue, one with a cover showing a mockup of a golden "Zelda 64" cartridge. This variant was reportedly distributed at E3 1998. According to Next Generation editor Tom Russo, the popularity of this cover at E3 1998 allegedly put pressure on Nintendo of America to release a golden edition of the game, which they later announced as a limited Collector's Edition.
