Scope and Contents
This is a digital audio tape (DAT) containing backups of the digital voice recordings from the production and marketing of the game Ultima VII: The Black Gate.
The original audio backup of this tape contained segments of garbage data totaling roughly one hour of audio. These segments have been excised from the publicly accessibly copy of this recording in our digital library.

The Video Game History Foundation has been given permission by the donor to reproduce material in this collection, but the VGHF does not control the intellectual property rights for these materials. Notwithstanding those rights, the library allows reproduction of our copy of this audio recording for research and educational purposes, including publication, with attribution to Ben Lesnick and the Video Game History Foundation.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The label of this tape indicates that the audio was recorded at 48hz. However, the first portion of the recording (the voice of the Guardian) was recorded at 32hz. These two portions have been spliced together in the publicly accessible copy of this recording in our digital library.
Custodial History
This tape was loaned to the Video Game History Foundation for digitization by Ben Lesnick, facilitated by Andrew Harrington.
Lesnick loaned two tapes to VGHF. The label on the other tape indicates that it contained a data backup for the game Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi - Special Operations 2; however, that tape was unreadable.
Existence and Location of Originals
The original tapes were recorded to the donor after digitization.
